Today consumers and manufacturers prefer disposable plastic containers.

In most countries it is quicker, easier and cheaper to throw them away than to keep and deliver them for recycling.

So most of these plastic containers end up in dumps and sanitary landfills where they take a long time to degrade.

Or they are discarded in the streets, where they clog storm drains and are unsightly.
